The Hyderabad Association was established in 1993 by Mr. M. M. Ali, as a non-profit organization to serve the social and cultural needs of the Hyderabadi community. The vision and mission of the Association is to share a commitment to preserve, enhance, promote and strengthen human bonds by providing opportunities to share experiences and ideas.Since its inception, the Association has supported ventures to bring education and work skills to some of the poorest in India. It sponsors two primary schools, and supports an orphanage in Hyderabad. The Association has also expended funds to needy families and deserving students, defrayed cost of marriages and financed other philanthropic associations.Inspite of its modest size, the Association rises to the occasion whenever and wherever a disaster occurs. It has contributed funds for the relief works in Oklahoma, Kosovo, Chechnya, and Kashmir. In addition, it has supported the flood relief efforts in Hyderabad and earthquake relief in Gujrat and Pakistan. It had also made donations to American Red Cross for victims of World Trade Center, the Pentagon disaster and UNICEF Afghanistan Relief Fund. Useful efforts like above are flickers of hope that shine in our heart and fill our soul with the determination to remain the bridge of hope and to continue and improve our efforts. Recently we have establish a HAWMA Endowment Funds to enhance our endeavors in securing the Association vision and mission.
